I have a gorgeous pair of Clarki's which are becoming a proper mated pair.
Thing is though, over the last couple of months they are loosing the orange/yellow bellys,to a balck colour. And there yellow fins have got black spots, and markings on,which look like they are covering them.
They are in perfect health.
What do you think these black markings are?
Thanks

The Clarki clownfish changes a lot from juvenile to adult. When they are very young they are almost all yellow with a white tip on the top of their tail. As they mature, their yellow turns to black except on their fins and the front of their face. Atleast that's what mine did...

If there's one thing that annoys me it's a LFS who can't be bothered to mention these types of changes when you purchase a fish
Back a long long time ago I bought the cutest , sweetest gold striped maroon clown. Adorable orange little thing that turned into a holy black terror, which i still loved, but it would have been nice to know:smokin: :smokin: :thumbdown
It's wrong of them on so many levels
It's awful, but to this day at any LFS if I see someone admiring a maroon (or other similar) I just strike up a conversation & blurt out the news to them without really bothering to slip it in casually.
They usually think i'ma nut, but I bet a few have appreciated it :smokin:
