ive read a couple posts that say that excess or aggressive hermit crabs can be put in the sump tank, is this correct? ive got some live rock hibernating down there but thats it, no lights or substrate. will they still have enough to eat and be ok with no lights? how about a tiny hairy crab thats lurking in the display? would he be ok down there as well?
thanks!

I throw them in the sump when they are being bad. Then when I go to the LFS, I trade them in for credit.

But your crabs should be okay in the sump for extended periods of time.

Crabs will be fine in the sump, they will have plenty of things to eat and scavenge on.
