You should be able to keep softies with no problem, and you should also be able to keep quite a few type's of LPS corals. You may have a hard time keeping SPS corals.

What type were you thinking of?

I was looking at a mix added slowly. Why are SPS harder to grow than LPS?

SPS are much less tolerant of poor water conditions and definately require more light than you currently have. (Not saying your water conditions are poor, just answering your Q).

SPS require intense lighting (Metal Halide) excellent water flow, and pristine water conditions. With the equipment you have listed, you may be able to keep some SPS for a short time, but will have long term problems in the end.

what corals do you plan on keeping? With your lighting as mentioned you would be ok with softies and most lps.
