hello roger, i have a question. i bought a new osmolator pump four months ago and have been using it with kalk for two months. i read where kalk can be bad for the pumps so i figured i would clean the pump to well to keep it clean. the problem i an having is that it was working perfectly before i cleaned it now it will not work at all. i soaked the pump in a 50/50 solution of water and vinegar for an hour and rinsed with fresh water, and now it does not work. should i not have cleaned the pump this way, can i take the pump apart to check the internal parts? thanks for your help eric

The pump cannot be taken apart. Kalk is very hard on the seals and probably ate through the seal, I would guess that kalk had sort of resealed it and then the vinegar ate through the kalk. The best way to do this if you insist on it is to mix the kalk dilute- 1 tsp per 2 gals and keep the pump propped up so it doesn't pick up any powder.

i only use the clear decanted water for the water container. there is no powder or build up for the pump to suck up.
