I bought float switches from autotopoff.com and now I just need to deciede on a pump. The head height is 24" to 30" below and about 5" over. I was looking at a maxi-jet 900or 1200, a aqua-lifter, or using the penguin 175?? I have already. Any input on which one or any other suggestions? thanks-Pecc

I used an aqualifter for 2+ years. Since I was topping off w/ Kalk, I had to run vinegar thru it once a month so I switched to a peristalic pump.

that was my origional choice just because of the slower speed so less chance of a flood, if anything stuck. But I was worried about if it could handle that head height, I can't find any specs on it. thanks-pecc

My awualifter was pulling from the bottom of a 44 gal Brute and then pumping over a 55 gal rubbermaid sump. I think with the heights you have listed, it should do fine.
