Haven't taken any pics of fish at home in a while, so I figured I'd post a couple...

Epinephelus flavocaeruleus. Page 54 in Scott Michael's Basslets, Dottybacks, and Hawkfishes book. Great looking fish, but real nasty to other groupers. I got it from a friend of mine because it made all the other fish in the tank miserable. I actually got rid of four groupers because he was making all of them miserable. But for some reason, I have a small Argus grouper that he doesn't bother...strange.

Wow, that grouper is spectacular looking. First one I've ever seen. I hope you have a huge tank for those boys, that eel is going to get good sized too. I'd love to see another pic of the eel that's the first in-tank shot I've seen. They look quite attractive in ocean photos.

That is one freaky looking fish.
Cool, but freaky.
If someone was afraid of clowns, I bet they'd be afraid of that fish too...

Thanks for the replies. The eel is a Gymnothorax kidako. It's pretty rare, only found in Japan, Korea, and the Phillipines. It only grows to about 3 feet total. It's on page 269 of Scott Michael's Reef Fishes vol.1
I finally got some better pics of him and his eel tankmates, the Hawaiin Dragon and Tessellated eels.
