I'm currently cycling live rock for a 29 gallon in a rubbermaid tub and I'll admit that I haven't been exactly on top of my top off's and such. The salinity and temp have swung around a good bit, how much will this affect the rock? I'm not exactly ready to add it to the tank yet so it really hasn't been on my mind but the tanks about ready and I'm just a little concerned.

I wouldn't think it would be a big deal. Anything that didn't die in shipment is the strongest of the strong. Just keep it wet. And anything that did would be reseeded by new rock that you add later.

Skimming/water changes are all you need at this stage.

I've done a few water changes and the rock has been submerged the whole time. I figured it was OK but glad to hear it from others
