I want to make my cube into a Anemone tank. How long have some you waited before you got one(anemone)? Carlos Anemone Care sheet says to wait a month, some say a year. And also how do u know if your tank is stable or not?

Thanks

Paul

I would wait at least 3 months. They need real stable tank conditions and they are not that hearty.

Once all the chems are in check just drop one in there.

To be honest i never tested my water before i shoved him in there either

Ive found anenomes easier than some lps I also never tested when I first dropped mine in but you do want to make sure your pH ammonia and nitrite are 8.3 and 0

Thanks , yea my tank is full of PODS and other life. There are like a trillion at night. my Nitrite is 0 and Ammonia is 0 and PH is 8.2. I think i need to raise my SG tho, its 1.023.

Any other Suggestions?

Thanks alot everyone

Another reason for the waiting period is so that the you are more intune with your tank and have a nice maintence routine.

1.025-1.026 for anemones

Any SG over 1.025 is o.k. for anemonies, but if you want to keep fish thats another story. Fish cannot handle the salt content. Be aware.

Not sure where you heard that, but it is simply not true.

It is amazing that I have kept all my fish at 1.026 for the last 10 years

uhhh....1.0264 is NSW level........1.025-1.026 is most common kept sg for home reef.
FO or FOWLR will can have a lower sg.1.019-1.023, but i believe anemones like the nsw level and fish have no problem with it.

All I am saying is perameters can change in a tank that affects sg. High temps can elevate sg and of course evap. Its always good to have a little elbow room in case of an emergency.
