I am going to have to quarantine my inverts for a couple weeks. I am concerned about my fighting conch because they need a lot of sand. Can I quarantine the fighting conch in a barebottom tank for a couple weeks?

it should do OK.
wholesalers keep them BB for weeks at a time.
make sure to feed them.

This is a thread resurrection but I have basically the same questions. I have a sand sifting goby in the tank with the conch and was considering adding in some substrate since both may benefit from it, however if I needed to treat for any reason things may be made more difficult. I've fed some mysis and some forumula one and am feeding sparingly so as not to overload the tank. Being that these guys are detritivores I am sure that would be ok, but input is always nice.

Try formula one sinking pellets: they go to the bottom.

NLS Pellets or meaty foods (silversides, mysis).

crap, now I can't remember if its formula 1 or 2... so I'm going to follow up with "the red one"
