are maze brains slow growers?

I've got this green maze brain, and it never seems to get any bigger.
What gives?

I've had one for about a year now... not sure if it is any larger than when I got it.

ditto, ive had one for a year and a half at least and its Maybe grown a quarter inch all the way around the perimeter

I've got a round one, about the size of a softball, that is a bit bigger, from looking at pictures, than it was three years ago.
I've got a flatter colony that has grown quite a bit in the two years I've had it, and it's undergoing some sort of polyp extrusion now.

they are very slow growers, that is why some types are outlawed for capture and selling.
