I know this is the prop forum, but i kinda want to do the opposite. If i trim a stem of my xenia off i know it will grow back but will i grow back bigger than before? its spreading to my acros and i was looking for a way to contain it. Cuz even if i could (but i probly cant) get rid of it i wouldn't want to because its still cool!

The only successful way I have found to contain the growth of pesky, yet entertaining corals is to use the "island" method.

We had a huge colony of Xenia on an island of rock. This rock was far enough away from other rocks that the xenia couldnt cross the gap. If by chance one of the branches got big enough to touch another rock then its time to frag that branch.
