I finally found some cool damsels.

we'll start with some standard blue devils

yeah, I know I need to scrape the front and I have a hair algae problem
my sulphur damsels are breading, and the fry seem to cause the algae

those are pretty sweet
I love the Rolland's, agressive?

People are afraid of damsels, becuase I've lost at least one of the red honey's
and black cap's to aggression when they were added.
(at $15-20 a pop, it adds up)
And 2 more needed to go to a time-out tank to grow their tail fins back.

not to mention that anything added needs to be done in groups

Those are beautiful :)
I picked up a little Talbot's yesterday, my South Seas devil gave her a bit of a beating so she's recovering in a 'time out' tank (little nano reef) for now. I should have known better, know-it-all's right - adding two at once would probably have saved her a tail shredding.

Thanks, I've always liked damels,
and after my Yellow's started to breed (more eggs hatched last night)
I decided to go with a damsel themed softy reef
but didn't want my tank filled with YT's and blues
I added the blues to keep the yellow's from taking over the entire tank

I had my LFS on lookout for "SWEET" damsels
I finally got the call about 2 weeks ago that they came in

the tank aggression is really bad for the first 24-48 hours
after the established damsels see they aren't going anywhere, they stop nipping

next up is the azfur(sp) damsels they got in

I love the Rolland's, agressive?
it's in the same family as the Talbot's...(Chrysitera)not as aggressive as others, but it does have it's bolt hole which it defends and stays within that area...same as the Azure and a yellow tail. Some like the blue devil, I also have, and a few others roam the whole tank. I agree....the trick is to add in small groups.
I'm always looking for any "sweet" damsels also..
here are a few more....

I've always liked damsels -- remind me of little sport compacts racing around the tank.
I have a electric blue, snowflake (hawaiian domino), talbots (peach/yellow color), fiji devil

of course the blue has taken over the 60 gallon --first beat up the fiji devil so I had to put it w/ the snowflake in a 20gallon. then I tried adding the talbots to the 60 -- beat up, tried putting it in the 20g --beat up some more... now iving in his own eclipse 3 gallon and fully healed.
tried kicking the blue devil out of the 60g but its too quick -- i feel like adding the snowflake in there to give her a good taste, but that would be like introducing an even worse serpent I'm guessing.

I'm convinced damsels are so mean because they are beat as children lol
