View Full Version : How is your growth with the Reeflux bulbs?

Anyone been running these bulbs long enough to comment on growth? Please list any supplemental lighting and what bulb you used prior to the Reeflux.

(I am hoping the higher output in the 450nm range from the Reeflux combined with 420nm from actinics will compensate a bit for the lower overall PAR of the Reeflux bulbs compared to other 10k bulbs. Or does it just boil down to PAR numbers?)

only blueline superwhite 10K & XM 10K have higher par on e-ballasts....most are about same or less.

Any info on Reeflux 12k on M80 ballasts? From what I hear the 10K is kind of yellow on M80 ballast while the 12k gives a very crisp white appearance.

yeah, didn't realize that. I'll be running it on a magnetic ballast so there are quite few 10k's with better PAR. It runs at 70 on the M-58.

good growth w/ my reeflux 10k's. they are the 400 watters on hqi though, with a very high par comparable to other 400 watt bulbs. Sanjay says they're 170.

the 250w 10k reeflux's seem to have less par compared to your basic 250w 10k's.

Im not sure about par rating but I get great growth out of my 250 watt 12000k's.

ReefLux only have less PAR than alot of 250 SE's on Standard Mag ballasts(as the HQI is a mag. ballast, but drives ReefLux PAR through the roof).....on e-ballasts the 250's perform with any bulb other than XM 10K and the Blueline Superwhite 10K

merlock....WOW! what size tank are the 400's on the HQI?

yeah that's why I wanted to try them out, they have outstanding par in the 400w version on hqi... my ushio and evctech 10k bulbs were around 170 par and didn't have the great color the reeflux 10k has. these bulbs seem to bridge the gap between better color vs. higher par.

i've got them over a 50 gallon right now. i only have one turned on at a time though to keep the heat down.

merlock - let me get this straight. You have 2 400w hqi's over a 50 gallon tank???? Damn.

Also, can anyone comment on the 10k or 12k de bulbs?

I am switching from Phoenix 14k DE bulbs in ROIII pendants powered by SLS HQI ballasts. I am getting Lumenarc III's next week and planned on getting some Reeflux 12K and power them with the SLS ballasts. Anyone out there running the 12k's on HQI ballasts and can comment on the overall color of the tank and growth of their SPS?

how will the 10k reeflux run on standard PFO ballasts? those drop down menus don't work very well for me for some reason.

Sanjay only had the data for the SE bulbs.

When I compared the 250W SE CVR 10kK "unshielded" to the "shielded" 250W DE Phoenix 14kK (all IC driven) here's the results:

SE CVR= 86 PPFD and CCT 15983
DE P14= 73 PPFD and CCT N/A

Now, I make the HUGE assumption that (if like all other bulbs) the DE'r should put out 20-30% more PPFD.

BTW.....Go Ags!
