do u leave back/sides of tank coralline encrusted?

??? just wondering. i always liked it but my wife is continuously bustin my balls saying tank will look alot cleaner if all is removed showing just black which i painted outside. i can see her point. not sure if i should leave it or scrape it. it's a corner tank and back and 2 sides are completely coralline covered.

Mine is built in to a wall so I only scrape the front. I like the look of things growing on the back and sides. Besides, I painted those black.

i like keeping the back of my tank black...i just like to clean look.
I simply clean it once a week.

Same here, I scrape the sides and front, but leave the back. I love the look of a back wall covered in coraline, though a black background really shows off the colour of corals - many of my corals are pink (my favourite, what can I say, I'm a girly girl) and would probably stand out more if I kept the back wall black.

I scrape the front, sides, and back of my tnk. I too prefer the clean look.

since i have a corner tank, only back i have is the corner overflow. that stays pretty much black. just alittle coralline. 2 sides are completely covered in coralline though. i think now that i've got 3 years worth of purple crust on them, i'm just gonna leave it. it looks good, although clean would too. it would be too much of a PITA to start scraping now.

nope. I occassionally scrape 1 side thats somewhat viewable.

looks more natural to me I guess. and scraping the back of it would be near impossible to reach around the rockwork and such.

I like the clean look too, every month or so I get around to scraping all 4 sides, and as much of the bottom as I can get to.
