Anyone have some links to some sites that have a softie dominate system with pictures and equipment.

I found this TOTM from 2004 that I thought was the Ultimate tank for what I like but I see this person hasn't posted in like 2 years.

I just want to get some ideas from successful tanks that I can apply to mine when I get it running.

Thanks !

Feel free to post pics of your own systems if you like. It doesn't have to be TOTM material :)

You can do a seach in the photo gallery. It's on the left column on the RC home page....

Here's a recent shot of my system. Definately not totm material but softie dominated with only a few lps and sps. I like the ease and movement of softies as well.

It's actually kinda ghetto as far as equiptment goes.

What are you running for lights?

Thanks-

Lights are 330 watts icecap vho's (uri, 2 super actinic, 1 50/50), 2 x 250 m.h. (coralvue 12k) and 2 x 175 m.h. (coralvue 10k).

No sump at all, the tank's not even drilled. I had the overflows custom made in my area, siliconed them in, and I run almost all my equipment out of them, plus one is converted into a fuge for macros.

looks great

How noticable is the difference between the 175s and 250s?

Not much difference to my eye, nor is there much difference between the 10 and 12 k.

Since the vho's are only 6 feet and smack in the middle of an 8 foot tank, I located the 250's on the outsides, so the light intensity is pretty equally spread.

Works for me ;)

Nice tank reefshadow:)

I have also admired the tank you posted opiy. Surely some softie guys will chime in here. I'm in the process of planning a 40 breeder softie/anenome tank. I will post details when I figure it all out of you like.
