Anyone have BB system with a prop tank?

this especially goes to those who had DSB and then converted to BB. I'm getting ready to pull that trigger. Any advise from those who have done this with stocked prop tank?

I plan on setting up a BB tank.

You have a sump w/ fuge or LR in it. Need some type of Bio filter.

Just siphon it out, but only remove like 25% every 5 days or so to let the Bio-filter rebuildwith the remaining filtation.

I have a prop tank with a BB. I do have a couple of refugiums feeding it, one with sand one with mud. Both of the refugiums have very generous amounts of macro alages. JME.

what's that reflective material ppl use for barebottom tanks to reflect more light back up? like starboard? some kind of a mylar board i guess

Drain the water in to rubbermaids.
take the sand out.
put the water and corals back.
top off with pre-made NSW.

Note: having pizza to lure unsuspecting friends to help is a wonderful tactic.
