Hello,
I purchased a silver tip xenia frag from a LPS last year and it looked like it had silver tips. Interesting enough the xenia has propagated throughout the tank and the color seems different. The xenia in the lower part of the tank looks like silver tip xenia. The xenia that has moved to the uper portiion of the tank or that has attached itself to the back wall of the tank almost looks tan. I have a 250w ushio 10k bulb and 2 55w pc actinics. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

it could also be the amount of flow that changes the color.

It's the reflective nature of the silverback xenia. Natural sunlight will always show you what's the true color of the xenia. For the one you have, there is another variation called the Goldenback. However, do enjoy the blueish to silver flashes your xenia will produce when it sways in the current. But rest assured, it is not the xenia itself that's changing colors.
