Ive never really been to big into skimmers, but latley I have aquired a large amount of corals, my nitrates have risen since I got them all (20 gallon high, mostly soft corals and some SPS and LPS...) a few weeks ago, as of now I have a large acuaclear on the tank(not shure what kind)

would it help to bring down my nitrates if I had a skimmer on the tank?

thanks

Skimmers are good. Of course you'll always have the crowd that says Under XX gallons just do a weekly water change and you'll be fine, but stuff still accumulates. I'd suggest getting a skimmer. Probably a good Hang on back kind, or if you are diy savy, then try that. There's a good diy skimmer link here: http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58540

hope this helps
