I'm fairly new to the hobby and bought a lot of live rock/live stock from a very established tank when I started out. It came with a couple mushrooms and a small toadstool. After going to several live fish stoors I don't think that the mushrooms I have look normal, they almost look to thick and have a lot of "bumps". Here is a picture, maybe you can make some sense of it. Also is that green spot normal, almost in the center. It has several on it but that is the only one visible in the picture.

Thanks in advance.

Your shroom looks perfectly healthy. If your polyp appears thick, it is simply because of the uptake of water. The green spot is normal also, just another characteristic of this particular morph.

what do you mean by the uptake of water? Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

When corals are "open" during the day they are filled with water and expand. At night they expel the water and close up. So yes, opening and closing is a good thing.
