I have used this one...
1part :#3 portland cement AND 6 parts: aragonite sand.

What other recipes are you all using? Any other sands? Any other substrates?

I would like to make a collection of recipes here so I can try a few varieties and see which I like best.

I use
1 part white portland cement
3 parts crushed oyster shells
1 part rock salt

sometimes I toss in a couple handfulls of the large salt pellets from the water softener, during curing the salt disolves leaving holes.

Using a large SOLO cup (20oz)

1 cup Portland Type III Cement
1 cup Pre-Rinsed Crushed Oyster Shell (avail at feed store)
1 cup Pre-Rinsed Florida Crushed Coral

Add water until it gets to a pastey consistency.

Fill a box with crushed coral and scoop out shapes.

Add agrocrete mix in dug out areas in the box.

Cover portions with dry crushed coral and pour more agrocrete mix over the structure again (makes caves and holes).

Use a bamboo skewer to poke holes in the newly poured structure and swirl around to mke frag plug holes.

Cure in 50/50 vinegar/water bath for 1 month
Cure in water for 1 -2 months (doing 100% water changes each week)
