What temps do reefers at RC have their tanks at? Most fluctuate a degree or two, so you can pick more than 1 answer.:D

Please round up or down for partial temps. Thanks.

For the longest time I keep my tank between 80-84, after starting working at the LFS I find out that the same coral or clam will open more under cooler temp at the store but doesn't look nearly as happy in my own tank. Our store keep their tank at 75-76. So I lowered my tank temp to 76, now all my softies, xenia, and clams open up and looks much happier than when I kept them under 82

Interesting. My tank is set at 78-79 and my clam expands huge.

Yeah. I did make it so you could pick more than 1 choice thus giving a range that way but I think you are right. Set ranges would've been more accurate in determining actual voters rather than votes cast. I think.

78 - I use 3 80mm computer fans wired to a 12v 1000Ma wall adapter blowing down on my refugium. It helps with evaporation, thus a free water change. Got a great automatic refill contraption that hooks directly to my RO from eBay.

78-79 for me year round. Sump is in the basement where my basement stays about 65-67 year round which cools the water. 300 watt heater in the sump and 300 watt heater in main tank.

Its not really a water change because all that evaporates is water (H2O). The point of water changes is to remove the organic compounds and other junk in your water.

I've never had a need to heat my tank. The chiller comes on at 81, and the temps have never dropped below 77 or 78 on their own, even on cool days. Tank is typically 80-81.

Where's the choice for people who have seen too many of these polls, and the ones about what salt brand you use... j/k :)

I'd like to know, who keeps their tank at 84? That's high!

I agree with you. My apologies to all of you who have been around RC for some time. The more time I spend here I'm realizing these questions have already been asked a thousand times. My bad.

Don't worry chirocato, I was mostly just kidding. :) It's not a newer member's fault if they haven't "seen it all", and sometimes the search function is down, and some topics deserve occasional revisiting. It's inevitable to have reposts on some popular topics. It's no biggie to me.
