My Longnose Hawkfish and Blue-knuckle Hermit Crabs love to climb around and lay around at my Montipora capitata. Is it by any known reason that coral attracts them or is it by incident they have choose that one? Will it hurt the coral?

Hello, and:

Longnose hawkfish just like to perch on things. It shouldn't bother the coral. As far as the hermit crab, I don't know why it would be attracted to that particular coral, but it's possible it could irritate the coral with sharp appendages.

Just keep an eye on the coral, and look for any signs of stress.

For those of you who have a longnose hawk fish does it bother your small shrimp?

when your hawkfish gets large enough it will eat your shrimp. that's just their (hawkfish) nature
