Recently purchased a small colony of zoas. brought them home, put them in the tank with bag and instantly they opened. once i opened the bag a little and let my water in--they closed up and have no opened since--over 4 hours later--is this normal?

They are most likely just acclimating to your water, although 4 hours later does seem a little strange. Try checking your params, and post them back to us.

Params fine--4 hours is strange--It's so weir they opened up brilliant once I put the bag under my ligts in my tank--however once the water was mixed they folded in--with this being said--I turned off the VHO Super White an dI have just the Actintics on--I read that this will assist them in opening? What is a good way to acclimate these buggers--to be honest they are so low level a coral I really thought a 30-40 min temp acclimation was all that was needed

For most corals, I just temp. acclimate them with no adverse side effects, but i'm not sure what's wrong. I would just get some sleep, and check on them in the AM.
