I started my phytoplankton culturing back up for the past 3 months, but would like to learn more about the phyto reactors and have not found much information via google.

I am wondering if these reactor setups have been proven to be effective and if DIY plans are out there.

I currently feed 1 cup of phyto 1-2 times a day in my 180gal. The reactor setup with auto feedings looks interesting and may be less maintenance, while ensuring a fresh supply. It looks like with the CO2 injection the culture can quadruple in 24 hours hence the ability to keep a fresh supply feeding your tank at determined intervals and quantities.

I do not want to slow dose the tank with phyto as I know this is not the preferred way verses larger feedings at a time.

Can anyone provide links for more information and if there are DIY plan for these? I checked the DIY forum on RC, but did not find a DIY for this (the search feature was not available so I browsed around.)

Thanks!

I thought effluent drip feeding was the prefered method of dosing? Used with uv sterilization to prevent blooms it seems to me would be much more effective in preventing overdosing the tank. As far as how to make one I would look at just simplifying a Ca reactor plan.
