I have a MAG 24 I'm going to use on a closed loop. It seems pretty loud right now. Is there any way to quite this thing up?
I was thinking of making a box around it with foam insulation or maybe coating the pump in silicone, but I'm worried about heat. So anyone have any other ideas?

I hate to bump the thread, but I'm sure someone has a few ideas for this. I would think that the same ideas that work for a MAG 7 or 9.5 would work. So any thoughts?

The Mag 24 is a noisy pump - plain and simple. We got rid of ours and used a Mag 9.5 (we were using it for a return, not a closed loop). We tried everything, and due to a multitude of factors, it just wasnt going to work. I'd seriously reccomend not wrapping it in foam insulation. 1, because its going to still be noisy, 2, because it wont dissipate heat as well (though it still is water cooled by technicality) and 3, because it can lead to issues for maintenence (especially if you use silicone.

Basically, I dont believe there is a way to make that pump quiet.
