Hello everyone, I just purchased a Banded Bamboo Cat Shark egg about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I placed it inside my Aquarium and everything seemed fine except for a couple of days ago my egg starting floating. I did alittle further investigating and found that along with the floating egg their was a white mucos like film surrounding the egg accompanied by a nasty smell that is getting worse. I cleaned off the egg and scrapped the shell and saw and air bubble inside. Is my little shark alive or dead. Please help!

Hate to say it, but it sounds like dead and decaying :(

Billsreef, I agree I'm going to contact the Local Pet Store to get another one and try again.

Jason,
Your experience with the current egg is very common, common enough that I no longer them for my own business. I'd recommend skipping the egg and go for a small juvenille banded shark that is already eating.

You can hold the egg case up to the light, and if the shark is alive, you will eventually see it move.
