I am putting together a 180 gallon barebottom tank, and am curious as to which type of setup would be best for this tank.
Thanks for your insight!

depends, what are you planning on keeping in the tank?

Well, eventually, I think a little bit of everything. It will have no sump.
The easier corals at first, as I am a complete newbie; working my way into the harder corals as time progresses.
I want to set it up this way, so as to keep my purchases with this in mind.
I too have a 180 gallon mixed reef w/sump.
I posted a similar question to Roger, & his recommendation was two 6000s with a 7095 controller.
I took his advise and couldn't be more pleased.
If I need to upgrade to a 6100, all that's required is the purchase of the transformer.

Hi Stacy, I would do as Ray said and get a couple 6000's
