The piece that has been given to me was just torn off the rock by hand, while still in the tank. It's been in my tank for close to a month now and doing great. I just laid it on a rock and it attached itself. Not sure if this is the best way, but it worked for me.

I just cut a section of it with a razer blade and then peel it away from the rock.

Its easy to just rip it off and super glue it where you want it. Or just put a rock near it and wait.

I agree..I did the same (peel and stick in nook method) and I now have little green bushes in several areas of my tank...so pretty!

I jus took a screwdriver and hammer and Bam, broke up the rock. :D now I have a few frags to give away when needed. ;)

No need to cut, break etc... Just rip the stolon(the purple/pink mat the polyps grow from) and stick it on a small piece of live rock. Take a rubberband(one that a girl would use for a pony tail), fishing line, etc and tie the piece of stolon to the rubble/rock for a couple of weeks. It will attach and bada bing.

GSP's are very hardy and can take about anything.

I always just rip with my fingers. A lot of times the leading edge of growth will be loose, and I just start from there. I got carried away last time and ripped up approximately a 3x3 area, in 1x1 sized pieces. I glued them down in my ouffer's tank a week ago and they've already shown signs of growth.

If the rock is sitting by the glass of the tank will it grow on the glass. I sean a tank like that once but i don't know if it was star polyps.

I have seen it grow onto the glass from the rock.

One whole corner of my tank is covered where a rock of GSp's I isolated has grown onto the glass. It now covers around 8"x12" of glass. I periodically rip pieces off, glue 'em to a shell or rock and sell or trade at the LFS. Time to prop again!

Be carefull where you put these suckas! they will grow out of control and cover everything. Its good to isolate 'em.

i just fragged a small peice of my GSP......... used a knife to peel up a corner, then just ripped uptil it came off. Wasnt the biggest piece (only about a half inch square) but i have a feeling it will find a way to survive. Gonna try to get it to attach the back of my tank, so I can have a GSP wall!

This stuff grows everywhere, why would you want to frag it? I have about 15 big rocks with it growing on it. It creeps onto other rocks so easily! Actually anything easily.
