I am looking to get some streams for my new tank. It will be about 110 G (48" x 24" x 22"). I don't want closed loops anymore, tired of all the heat from all the external pumps. Since the Streams use so little wattage and produce low heat, I am hoping I can save on my electric bill. If I run one 6060 with the magnet holder on the far left/back wall and one 6000 with a contoller to pulse on and off on the opposite back wall corner, will it be ok? The tank will be SPS with a shallow sandbed. I am hoping to place it high enough so that it wont mess the sandbed up, but low enough so that it will not shoot out of the tank. So, can the magnet holder be used to allow the streams to point to one side or the other, or do they just point straight? If they can only point straight, another option would be to put them on the far right side and point across the tank, one in fornt and one in back. The left wall is not an option since the external overfow is there. What would be your advice?

Thanks

The pumps can swivel about 45 degrees each way. I think your plan is fine but you may need to run the 6060 on a basic timer so the flow isn't too much. Once things acclimate it won't be a problem but even SPS don't like a sudden jump to very high flow.

Thanks for the quick reply Roger. I don't mean to be a dummy, but when you speak of a "basic" timer, what exactly do you speak of?

I should not use the TS07 kit?

Thanks

Just a household timer for the 6060, the TS07 would work independently. The 6060 cannot use the controller.

Ohhhhh, now as I re-read your original reply and see the 6060, I understand. Sounds good. Thank you.

Roger, if I can get one more reply out of you. The Tunze Magnet Holder 6080.50 says up to .47", so close to .5". Will this not hold on 1/2" acrylic? Do I need to go 6200.50?

It will work, just get the 6080.50, they translate those measurements to literally and do a direct conversion.

Thats great, a little savings at least. I'm gonna go place my order right now.

Thank you.
