Anybody have one for sale or know where I can get one cheap? $80 seems a bit too high for this thing!:(

check this site
http://www.webbsonline.com/catalog/skim/index.html

I use a barrel liner with spillway, but the spillway is only about 6in wide so that limits flow.

diy wood with epoxy or pondliner? or diy acrylic?

yeah, the pond stuff seems way overpriced for what you get! its uv resistant heavy duty black poly, but still.

Awesome sites, SD! Thanks!

Still pondering whether I should make a DIY filtration or just buying one. If I could find a spillway that would fit on a 60g drum, that would be nice!

just use multiple 2-4 inch pipe outflows on your drum.

Hmm, would that give me a waterfall look?

Know where I can get large pieces of lava rock as well?

from the drum via pipes, first receiver container would be a pond liner lined reservoir that would be back supported by blocks or dirt. This liner reservoir would be the beginning of your waterfall. Use some slate or flat rocks mortared or foamed to the lip to create the first spillway.

hard to explain, but check online or at local library for pond and waterfall design.

1-2 inch lava rock for biofilter can be found at home depot. place in a mesh bag for easier maintenance.
if you want bigger chunks, check BBQ's galore or most outdoor fireplace places.

I lucked out and went to my local water fountain shop and found a nice piece that was part of a natural rock fountain that will work well as a fountain weir. Better yet, the owner only asked for $40 for the big piece!:D

Anybody know if ABS is safe for ponds? TIA

yes

Thanks, so this anti-bacterial chemical coating on supposedly ABS material is farfetched?
