Does anyone have experience w/ these guys? I would love to hear personal experience and see photos. I searched but can't find anything on RC about these dudes...

From ORAfarm.com:

Coral Sea Clownfish - Amphiprion melanopus (New Caledonia var.)

The Coral Sea Clownfish is a variation of the Cinnamon Clownfish that occurs in New Caledonia. They differ in coloration, with a black saddle on a red body, yellow or orange dorsal, ventral and caudal fins and a blue head stripe. In juveniles the head stripe is white. As adults they are one of the most multi-colored clownfish. Cinnamon Clownfish from other areas of the Pacific generally are only red and black, with white or blue head stripes

They are similar in behavior and reproduction to the Tomato Clownfish (A. frenatus), and the females can grow up to 3.5 inches. As adults they may demonstrate the aggressiveness found in any of the larger clownfish species. The nest sizes average about 250 eggs and larval periods are similar to the Tomato Clownfish.

it is a cinnamon clown...but none of the cinnamons i see around here have the yellow fins and blue head stripe...Are they common? Because i can't find much info/pictures on the New Caledonia variation of the Cinnamon Clown.

Thanks,

Wes

NC and Vanuatu seem to have that coloration. They can be tough to pair because the females can be very aggressive, but they are beautiful in person. Their colors are almost florescent.

Here's a WC one I had to let go because she killed two possible companions, and another species in QT...

wow she is beutiful!

how do you think a CR pair from ORA would do? Is the aggression likely to be a little better if i get a pair of juvies?

You shouldn't have a problem pairing if your LFS can get some small ones from ORA. I will probably get a pair one day because their coloration is so vibrant. My pic doesn't do that female justice.

they are very gorgeous fish. Larger ones can be very aggresive and can give any maroon a run for it's money. If you get 2 small ones they should pair nicely. I would definitely go with the ORA fish my LFS used to get some wildcaught and they had horrible track records.
