how much MH lighting wattage is enough for a 50 gal tank with coral?

1 250 mh with atinics would be ok 4 -6 watts per gallon i usually go with IMO..

50G would be 48 " wide......so 250w (which should spread out 24" each way) would be minimum....actinic...I would skip...(depending on deep water corals or shallow water) depends on what you are keeping

Go with 2 175W bulbs. MH only spreads 24" x 24" total.

I just duplicated this thread a few minutes ago. Stupid me.
So ONE 250watt Hamilton Reefstar or Reefsun unit isn't enough for my 55 gallon tank?
