Can anybody tell me the difference between coraline algae and bad red algae?....I presently have a red algae bloom on my live rock and powerheads and partially on the back glass and overflows, not on the sand, and it is not the slimy type of red algae I have had in the past....Could it be coraline as a result of an accidental overdosing of calcium (was 70ppm, but noe is 500)?

Should read "Was 700ppm, but now is 500ppm"

I haven't heard of anyone considering calcerous algae to be bad. Calcerous algae generally grows in circles, is hard, and flakes off when scraped.
