what grain size would be best for a shallow sand bed say 2-3 " i would like to stay away from any south down type sand i don't want any sand storms i want to have a lot of flow any ideas?

I have a mix of the Carib Sea "Reef Sand" and "Flamingo Reef" in my SSB. Use a grain size that is as small as you can but that's still heavy enough to not get siphoned out when you're cleaning out the bed during water changes. Both of these have worked well for me long term -- small enough to look like southdown for the most part, but won't wash away with current or siphoning as easily.
