Looks like it might be aptasia. It's tough to get a decent picture since it isn't very close to the glass.

Looks like it to me. You may want to read this thread about getting rid of them:

Its kind of hard to tell from the pic, but it just looks like a "cup" coral. Let me guess...........Is that FLA aqua cultured rock? Cup corals are very common on FLA rock like, TBS and Gulf View rock.

Check out #14 .........Cup Coral ........See if it looks like this before you kill it off! Cup Corals are good.

If it is aptasia, something I've found sometimes works is to mix up a highly concentrated mix of kalk and inject it into the aptasia. If you manage to pierce it and give it a good squirt it should nuke it pretty good.

Tip: Don't bother trying to explain to the pharmacist at the drug store what you're going to be donig with the syringe.

LOL Hey Herbie, I was just thinking the same thing. At first I really thought it was aptasia. But then after seeing it closed up, I do think it's cup coral. However, it may be too late since I did try to nuke it with a very high concentration of baked baking soda (very very high PH). I guess I'll keep an eye on it and see if it lives :rolleye1:

If it lives you'll know it's aptasia (okay, joking, but almost true). I have some that I've nuked with kalk numerous times and they still remain, bigger than ever. :)

Here is a pic of it closed up, which looks like cup coral to me. I couldn't really see this structure well enough before to tell.

I can't really tell from those pictures. Does it look like this?

When it's open it looks like some of those. But when closed, it shows the skeleton of a cup coral I think. I can't get a very good look at it though. Right now I'm about 90% sure it's a cup coral. I'm going to keep a close eye on it though (it did survive my attempt to squirt it with some alk juice). If it gets any bigger I'll have to assume it isn't cup coral, since they stay fairly small. If it turns out to be aptasia it will soon be larger than the max cup coral size.
