hey guys im almost ready to lift my new tank in the wall.
but i cant do this by myself, so i am putting out the call for help.

the tank is 8 foot long, so probably 3 or 4 more people to help me lift it on the shelf.

it will be ready by march 4th (1st saturday in march), it shouldnt take too long, but if you wanted to stick around and enjoy the fun of re plumbing this beast (not too bad either, ill have most of it done with water cycling thru the sumps and fuge.

if ya can help me out, i really would appreciate it!!!

i live in little egg harbor (10 mins or so off exit 58 on the GSP)

my phone number is (cell) 609-576-5721 call anytime, if i dont answer leave a message, and ill call ya back.

thanks in advance

Jerry

Hey Jerry, I'll make the trip down there if you have trouble getting enough people who live closer.

If the concrete pour around my people aquarium doesnt happen that weekend, I can be there. We'll probably be forming it next weekend then it's all weather dependent after that. So if its too cold for concrete then I'll be there.

new to the area and will ask wife to see if she knows how to get there. I am game since I am in the same shoes as you but my tank is coming earlier than yours.

Quick question though, you are not going to leak proof the tank first??

i dont know how to leak proof a tank, but i did fill it with water and let it sit in the garage for about a week, then dissasembled the bulkeads so it will sit flat on the 2x4s on the floor, is that what you meant.

thanks for the offers on the help fellas, i really appreciate it!!!

is their anything in particular you guys want me to have on hand for the tank lift?

food and beverages?

well, gotta go back to the garage
i cant wait till this is done, my back is killing me!!!

hope to see ya here Bob

well, i have all the old stuff out of the way and have the garage wall down to studs only (sheetrock and insulation has been removed)
the living room side still looks like i havent done anything.

now to cut the studs and install a double 2x10 for the header.

thats it for now.....

Back to work.

Yeah, that is what I meant. Sorry about the confusion. I will be doing the same very soon. I think my tank is coming no later than March 1st.

Again, will assist you if time permits.

quick update.

the stand is built, the shelf inside to hold the fuge is built, another shelf is built to hold the sump.

today im going to get some insulation to set the sump and fuge on (acrylic) so theyu dont crack incase im alittle out of square, i used a level to check everything, and it all appears square now, but ya just never know.

this week, im going to re do the lights, and figure out where the plugs will be for the equipment, and re do the wiring inside the stand (dont want wires going all over the place)

then hang the hood, im going to use threaded rods, bolted to the ceiling, this way, i can slide the hood up to work insode the tank, i was going to use chains, but i have threaded rods already.

so far i really dont know who is coming to hoist this beast up with me, i have a lift available, but my garage door track may be in the way to go straight in with it.

we could carry it in from the garage and put it in the hole from the livingroom, should be easier than the garage lift (only 4.5 feet) my brother in law and i carried it from the truck to the garage, so im sure we can move it easily enough.

if we decided to lift it from the garage, we would have to lift it 5.5 feet, and it would go in on an angle, and could get tricky for us.

its gonna be easier if everyone just "mapquests" directions, there are a bunch of ways to get to my house.
