my girlfriend wanted me to ask if her clownfish will ever grow a third stripe...or is it some sort o mis-barred clown?

Looks like a false percula, aka A. ocellaris. But the pic is not the best for a positive ID.
But if it's an A. ocellaris, then yes, it will always be mis-barred.

yeah real fuzzy pic, True percs eventually grow in to their third stripe. Looks like an occelaris though so it may stay stripeless

i think its a perc. evident by the thick black developing on both sides of the second bar. i see signs of the third strip at the top of the tail region, some shading thru the tail curve.
osc. develop there bars alot faster than perc babies.

ill get a pic of it tonight... i believe its a true perc...the black between the first two stripes is more prominent now than in this pic. and its actually got a little black stripe forming before its tail.

IME, it won't matter unless that fish is very young (which I doubt, since most LFS don't sell them that young) it will never fully develop its third stripe. Sorry

I own 2 of those myself and want to know what happens when they mature too. Does anyone have pictures of the before and after? Thanks!
