Is it safe to use vinyl hose that has nylon braids in it for drain/return lines? Someone told me that the braids would eventually force the hose loose.... perhaps that's only with metal braids??

(Here's a pic of my sump if that will help)

Thanks for the assistance. I'd hate to find the hose off and sending all my water onto the floor.

It works fine. It is just a little more durable and holds its shape better than hose without it. I Have never heard of it coming loose because of the braiding. I am using it on my skimmer and have been for three years now. :D

The only problem with that type of hose is that you must use barb fittings and clamps to hold it on. Some people dont mind, others only trust glue.

Thanks for the replies. The drain/return is a MegaFlow bulkhead which uses barb fittings, and it so happens that I am clamping them with worm clamps.

I feel much better now. :)
