With the selling of of my entire 90 gallon system, I have been setting up a 25gallon system in its place.

In all honesty I havent had a tank this small since I keep FW Cichlids.

Anyhow, there is right now no sump and I have become so used to having an in sump model skimmer, I have pretty my lost touch with the better HO models available now.

Would appreciate some input on what seems to be the better HO skimmers out there that can handle a system of this size.

Thanks

Chris

A Coralife Super Skimmer 65 would be pretty good skimmer for your new tank.

Thanks for the responses.

I had considered a CPR backpack, but cant do a search to see feedback on them.

from what I've seen of my friends setups, the cpr is junk.

the CSS is getting some pretty good feedback.

check out deuce's thread

Is this the CSS ( Corallife Needle Wheel Skimmer ) that you are refering too?

They look a bit different on each site:

If so thats a pretty good price for a small hang on back needle wheel. I think the up too 65 gallon model would be plent for even a well stocked 25gallon system.

Skimmers however are the one thing I hate having to decide on. You either get one that works great or is literally garbage, theres no happy medium typically.

If I were skimming a tank of that size, I would use this: http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=AQUAC-REMORA&Category_Code=AquaC , especially without a sump. I have seen this skimmer in action, but have never used it myself.

P.S. Did you get the e-mail containing the pictures to the 240g church tank??

James,
Yes and sent a reply to you about the church tank you set up. It looks very nice, and I am sure they were very happy with the final product.

Thanks for the link, I had considered that skimmer. However after FINALLY getting to do a few searches, I ended up ordering the CSS65. It seems to be a very efficent skimmer, especially for the small system I am running now.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

James,
I will send you a picture of my new 25 gallon once I do the trim work on the canopy. Shouldnt be much past the weekend. I will email you at the address you gave me to send for the tank pictures.
