Chad,
The H&S 1260 does not require the use of a Dremel. The difference is a larger diameter intake, special impeller cover to clear the needlewheel, and a pressure side fitting that is different than the original Eheim.
AcroSteve,
H&S produces 3 different size of Needlewheel pumps.
Aquabee 2000, Aquabee 2000/1 and the Eheim 1260.

So basically a different cover was machined to replace the stock cover?

Original Eheim Impeller cover is on the right, the H&S impeller cover is on the left. You can not tell from the picture, but the H&S has a larger diam, and a few mod's

It is great that you are upfront about differences whereas Deltec has all the secrecy!
Thanks Brian.

Sorry guys, at this time, I do not have the impeller cover available as a seperate item.
The Impeller and Impeller cover is only two of the differences, the output also uses a different fitting. All the fittings on the pumps are metric and would require the sourcing of metric pvc in order to hook up as a retro on most skimmers. What makes H&S skimmers so effective is a sum of all the parts, the skimmer diam, air intake, bubble sixe, neck design, riser tube diam and height, etc. By just putting a H&S pump does not mean that you will get the same or similar performance.

Are you located in North America? If not the 50hz model is different than the 60hz.
