Where did you order the rock from? Maybe they will give you a replacement or credit! If not satisfied.

What is the general size of the rock pieces? Mine is also figi and most pieces were at least 6" by 4" with a few about 8" by 6".

Most people perfer the branching, because of its looks.

Most of my peices are on the small size. I purchased it from them because that said that they claimed that they do not ship rubble.

Most of the pieces look like rubble. Out of 45 pounds, I got maybe 10 pieces that I could use for building a reef. Size is 3 x 6, 4 x 6, rest of rock is rubble.

Also when I received the rock, it was dry. Even the news paper in the box they used for moisture was dry. I do not see any color on the rocks. Mostly just brown. (No purple, red or any color), no signs of life forms at all.

ohhhh... sorry... you are right... looks like mostly rubble there. How old is ur tank... just make sure you just don't dump it into ur tank just incase of any die off. Check out their guarantee and make sure you can't switch them first before you do anything with it.

GOOD LUCK!

Talk to them about it. Hopefully they can get you a replacement. That rock sucks..

I would contact them. I received a shipment from them a couple years ago and the tonga branch arrived with a damaged, foam shipping box. Inside was rubble, much like what you are seeing. I sent them a photo and they sent me a new box free of charge. I also got to keep the rubble for use as I pleased.

LiveAquaria is very good at customer service.

Keep us posted, it may determine whether other reefers will use them or not.

I had the exact same problem with liveaquaria this week. I bought the 45lb box of they're Fiji premium live rock and it was all branch like and rubble. I did get one piece maybe 12 inches by 6 inches but the rest was rubble that looked like the picture you posted.

I called them this morning after reading this thread and theCustmer Service Rep didn't even hesistate she is sending another 45 lb replacement box. I'll have it on Thursday.

I'll let you know how that one works out, but I would suggest calling them.

I called liveaquaria also, and the girl is sending me a new 45 box of rock.

After talking to a manager, I found out that they do not even look at the rock. It is sent to them from over seas prepackaged. They don't even look at it. The rock sits in there wharehouse already boxed, waiting to be shipped.

The rock that I recieved was totally dry. Even the news paper that was in the box was dry.

I will wait and see what I recieve this time.

Keep me posted on your results.

We ordered some of their Tonga branch and got nothing but small pieces. (We also ordered the Figi premium, but it had some rather large pieces, so no problem there.) Well, I called them and they didn't hesitate to make it right. Instead of sending a new shipment, I asked if we could get the deep water show. She said no problem, we just had to pay the difference in price (not a problem) and they would pay for the next day shipping. I told her we need larger pieces (150 gal tank) and she made a note on the order. We ended up with a REALLY beautiful 30 lb. rock with all sorts of coraline algae and lots of stuff. :) They may not be perfect at Liveaquaria, but if they goof, they make it right. I would deal with them for their customer service alone!

Well I just got my second order of Fuji live rock from Liveaquatica.

Same thing again. Nothing but branches, 1 large peice of branch, the rest rubble.

No actual rock at all.

I will call them later today and let you know what happens

Actually, take a photo and send them the pic of the first box and of the second box. It almost sounds like they possibly have some of their nano rock labeled as the bigger stuff, or something of that nature. Perhaps they are mixing orders.

Pictures tell a thousand more words than you or I can ever tell.

I would keep the rubble; it can always be used for seed or in a refugium.

After sending them photos, I have to give it to them.

Can some one please let me know of a good company to buy live rock from.

Every company that I look at claims that they hand pick it, but after calling them, They do not actually hand pick it, It is hand picked for them.

I am look for some live rock that actually has life forms on it, and in it. Would love to buy some rock with mushrooms and of life on it.

Thanks for your help.

I got a box from LiveAquaria and it was okay if you don't mind base rock? It was supposed to be premium but no life or color on the rock at all. I guess if I wait long enough it may all come around but isn't that the point of buying premium over base in the first place?

Yes, this one really brought up the long dead! LOL

You should do what I did. Go to your LFS's that have live rock, and just buy a small piece. My locals sell it for $4-6 a lb. I bought a small piece, costing $2 from each. That will help seed it, and give you a variety of bacteria ... plus the possibility of hitchhikers.

I got the most hitchhikers from the Chaeto one LFS had growing in one of their tanks.
