I think that you could do with out the CL 65. With a 20 gal reguge you should be ok

i am going to put it in the refuge.. why do you think it would be better with out it?

seems a little excessive to me, unless you are planing on overstocking this thing, a 20 gallon refuge and a skimmer?

Yea i am thinking with these items in place i should have no problem increaseing the bioload. Plus with the extra water volume make the display tank a little more stable.

why not get a 10 gallon, you already have the light, fuge and skimmer for it....

i dont understand why you would choose such a small tank and then overpower it (visualy) with bulky oversized equiptment.

was there a reason you didnt go with a 10g or use smaller equiptment?

Basically ialready had a 20 gallon tank just sitting around and the refuguim wont even be seen. and that is where the equiptment will be stored and running. they only thing that will be "bulky" is the light, in which there , to me, wasnt anyother alternatives for the deal i got on this lights with that power.

i got a suggestion. Use the 20 and switch the 5 to a fuge and skimmer. The lighting will be fine for the 20 and you could stock it with tons of stuff.

just a thought

man i want to soooooo bad but that is just more crap i would buy...and until i get thru school and become a journeyman this will sufice, when that happens i will get a HUGE tank. :) i want to but its best for me to stick with the gallon display.. i know i'm backwards.. but like i tell most people i never claimed to be normal.

there are cheap ways to stock a tank...check out the club forums here: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=80
there should be one for your area. People on the chicago land area forum are always selling frags and trading, etc... much cheaper than the LFS. check it out.
