Currently have a JBJ formosa 2x96w on a 40br at work. The tanks contents include a hammer, clam, orange cap and a rose anemone. All have shown great growth. Must be the shallow depth. Bulbs are due to be replaced ($80). Was thinking of going T5 for superior light quality. I currently have 3 potential deals on the table but I can't decide on which one. Please help me decide.

Deal #1
8x 39w Tek light, actinics due to be replaced in 6 mo. and days in 1yr. (Concerned about having too much light, fixture is 19" wide and tank is 18" and I only have about 10-12" of space above the tank) Price is $200 - great price I believe. Another plus is the Tek light has individual reflectors.

Deal #2
4x39w Aquamedic T5, fixture is 4 mo. old. Price is $150

Deal #3 Nova Extreme
4x39w Nova Extreme, fixture is also 4mo old. Price is $130

Of course I could just buy new pc bulbs. Price is $80

What do you think?
Thanks, Bill

Whatever you do, don't go with Deal 1. In fact, let me know who it is and I'll be sure that nobody else falls for that "deal". :D

Jump all over it. You can put a few layers of window screen over the tank and remove one every few days to acclimate the corals.
