I chopped up some garlic gloves into a very thin pasty substance. I mixed this with my formula 1 fish food and nori. When I put it in the tank, the small bits of garlic float around and are not eaten. Is this a problem?

You need to use the juice from the cloves, get a garlic crusher and use the juice in with the is fozen food pellet food etc.
You can also buy garlic extract from some LFS or online.

Is there any evidence anywhere that garlic is beneficial??

Pat

The small bits of garlic won't hurt anything as long as there's not too much quantity, which would mean rotting food in the tank. If the fish aren't eating the garlic, I'd stop adding it to the food.

There's some mild evidence that garlic might help with internal parasites, but no real proof of anything.

I read there was proof it helps with internal worms. You should ask Steven Pro he is an expert with it.

Yes, his article talked about the internal parasites. The data didn't go so far as a proof, though.
