View Full Version : How long should I dip my fish for?

I am going to give my clown fish a fresh water dip today,it has black spot diease. How long should I leave it in the fresh water?

I just googled my question and found the answer, guess I should have done that in the first place. I tried looking in the fish dieases forum but it said due to a heavy load the search function is useable try paying us some money and it might work

Dipping your fish is a tricky situation. Even if you dip your fish, it's not 100% that you will cure the fish. You may actually get rid of the disease, but you may stress out the fish so much that it will get it again.

From what I remember, a 30 to 60 second dip should be ample time for treatment.

Instead of dipping, consider treating a fish in a chemically-treated hospital tank.
