Spotted at LFS today:

1. 4" cuskfish: golden coloration.

I couldn't google any useful information for this particular fish. Has anyone attempted to maintain one in an aquarium? (I am *not* considering this fish for my own tanks given the relative size of its mouth and my damsels)

2. "Nameless". LFS had a lone fish in a SPS tank with a very odd appearance. Body was dotted gold and brown, with the general shape of a basslet or fairy wrasse; fish had an elongated fin/spine (1") on the top of its head which dangled like a lure, but didn't look like it is used for that purpose (mouth is quite small).

LFS advised that it's hard to feed, but otherwise provided no information or name for this fish. I realize description is vague, and I didn't have a camera with me -- anyone have a clue?

3. Centropyge nox. Again, little net info -- anyone have any success keeping one?

info on your nox angel: http://filaman.ifm-geomar.de/summary/SpeciesSummary.php?id=6647

I'd treat it as a delicate dwarf angel... heres info from themarinecenter

umm, the only spotted gold and blue fish I can think of is the blue spot jawfish?... or a diamond goby, prawn goby (orange spot) marine bettas are spotted... sorry, but your discription is... odd?

and the only thing I can find on cuskfish (which are actually found to be named cusk eels) is on fishbase, here

Cusk fish are generally called cusk eels (Brotula sp.)

The second fish sounds like it's possibly a Splendid Dottyback maybe?

I have never tried the Nox Angel, but have had them at the store that I used to work at. I never knew that they were considered to be difficult to keep. Beautiful fish though.

Thanks for the replies, everybody! The store's midnight angel was particularly beautiful, and they only had one; I'm sure it will be snapped up quickly.

I couldn't get a good look at the cusk fish/eel, as it decided to hide. It looked alot like brosme brosme of the North Atlantic, but the body was less wide (top to bottom), and was a beautiful golden peach colour.

@cyan0069: the shape fits; just add more brown and a cephalic fin or spine that rises like an exclamation point on the fish, and you'll have it.

I'll try to return to the store in the next few days to get pix. :)
