Has anyone ever had problems getting the factory drain plug on the rubbermaid stock tanks to seal good...I cant seem to get mine to stop dripping...its very very slow, but annoying

Don't know if they are screw in type. If they are try some teflon tape.

Teflon tape on plastic plug may not work so well. Are you using the pink tape? That is what I use on PVC and works great.

its actually not the plug, but the seat around the bulkhead...i pumped in a bunch of silicone in the gap, hopefully it will hold...doesnt have to be long term, just long enough to get me into my new tank

Is there a rock or something in between the seat and the tank?

it actually has never had water in it until yesterday...i bought it at lumber 2 a few months ago...the silicone is setting, and hopefully it will hold for the 2 weeks i need it to transfer my tanks

I had to silicone the around the plug going into the bulkhead on my 300 gallon rubbermaid sump. I did the whole pink teflon tape and had no success. It seams that the threads on those cheap bulkheads they use are prone to bad threads. Since the silicone, mines been holding nearly a year.
