Am I missing something? Anyone with a turbuflotor chime in please. You know how the clear part of the collection cup just kinda fits into the colar with nothing to really secure it permently. Is there some trick to removing the collection cup for cleaning? Everytime I try to take the cup off the clear part just spins in the collar and I can't get it off. This probably sounds stupid but I don't get it. I would think this thing would be better enginered for $200

Had one for a couple of years...never had that particular problem that I can recall. The bottom extension of the cup that fits into the collar does have an o-ring and locking tabs. I'm wondering if the cup and that part are separated on yours. Remove the cup and then try turning the next part down counter-clockwise. You might have to push down very slightly to get it to turn.

I'll check the post when I get home in a couple of hours to see if that helped. If not, I'll take mine out and see if I can better describe the parts.

Yes the cup and the bottom part are seperated, but thats the way they are in the manual, which makes no sense, bacause the cup just spins around in the collar. I have taken it off B4 it's just a PIA.

Just to clarif heres a pic from the manual. Part 2 slips into part 3. The problem is that part 3 is attached so tightly to the base of the skimmer, that when I turn the collection cup (2) it just spins in the coller (3) I cant just pull part 2 out out of the collar, or I would have skimate all over the place. Did I put this together wrong or something?

part 2 (the collection cup) simply slides in and out of part 3... Part 3 (collection cup riser) secures tightly to the skimmer via a rubber O ring and a twist lock...
Turn off the skimmer before removing the cup or it will overflow...

I don't twist the cup to remove it, I pull up gently and gently rock it back and forth. Works great!
