Dead Blood Red

My blood red shrimp just died today.My son bought him or her as a Christmas present in November of 2004.How long is their lifespan.He or she was eating just a few days ago and now this.

They live for years (~5 or more). Give the water parameters, setup, tankmates etc. so that everyone can help more.
