Any suggestions? I prefer MH for intensity. Been out of the hobby for 2 years now and was wondering what the HOT new tread is?? Are all the Iwaskai 65k reefers dead??

Not too many 6.5k bulbs being used by hobbyists anymore. Lowest you'll generally see these days is 10k with many reefers using ~14k - 20k bulbs. If you want to keep acros then go for the MH. If you don't keep high light corals then pc's will do.

i just got an aquamedic 250 watt halide with a 15,000K XM bulb... that would be hella-sweet on the 30 cube :)

I would just get a nice 175w MH retro with a 14k bulb, which means you will not need supplimental lighting, it will be awesome! Just make a nice little custom canopy with 1 4" fan in there and it will stay nice and cool.

I went through this dilemma for my 30 and decided the sunpod 150 was the best avenue for me. So far I am quite happy with it. My only complaint is the fan is a little louder than I was hoping. I have only been using the unit for a couple of weeks so I can't comment on its longterm reliability/durability.

isn't the 30gal cube only 20"? I would say get the Current USA sunpod or if Current USA makes a 20" outer orbit, that would be the best, IMO
